Farewell Droopy-Drawers

It is was sad heart that I must blog the passing of Droopy-Drawers, the sweetest of the geese and the one most picked on by her companions. She was taken last night by a fox or a mink (which are locally present) and I only found part of her body left, crammed up against the paddock fence. I think old China mourns her as well, for she is walking around quietly honking. I shall have to look carefully to their security at night now, although it is difficult with the early dark and not getting home until well after sunset.

There is some irony in reporting last night that I was concerned for the whereabouts of the cockerels, when all chooks were safe and sound this morning on roll call. No eggs today.
